A friend of mine named Joe Losurdo put together a documentary on the early Chicago Punk and hardcore scene. The thing about my friend Joe is that when he gets involved in something he sees it through. Joe used to play bass in Life Sentence, in the original line up. We became penpals. Joe now plays in an awesome band called Regress. He runs two record stores in Chicago. Joe is committed to the scene. He worked on this documentary with his wife for the past five or so years. And then he came up with the idea of putting out a compilation. So there are rare tracks and other gems compilaed whereby a number of bands each contribute a song. So the expected bands include Articles of Faith, the Effigies, Naked Raygun. Some amazing unearthings include Tutu and the Pirates, Tooth Paste, subvert, Strike Under, Rights of the Accused, and Negative Element. Joe mentioned to me that he will be working on a full length release by Tutu and the Pirates. So while waiting for that next release you can track down a copy of this LP or the DVD at Regressive Films. Here is the packing to the rest of teh comp which includes a flyer collage and some notes on each of the band along with the track listing.
