At the age of 64, the mastermind behind the hype of punk has died. The guy who managed the New York Dolls to their demise, ran the Sex shop, and put together the Sex Pistols, succumbed to his battle with cancer in Switzerland on Thursday April 8th. The New York Times has a good summary of Malcolm's life. I will remember him for his antics with the Sex Pistols. The signing to A&M at Buckingham Palace, the recreation in the Swindle of the Pistols playing "God Save the Queen" on the Thames. I will also remember his rendition of "Buffalo Gals" and later "Madame Butterfly" which I hated at first. You had an impact mate.
