Tonight we need your help. CIUT is a campus-community broadcaster, and as such doesn't have access to the same resources or revenue generating capabilities that the private or public broadcasters have. In order to keep the lights on and the transmitter operational we need to ask for your help. We need to raise some money to keep the station going. You can help in a number of ways. The first is by donating. If you could spare a $25 donation, you could become a Friend of 89.5FM. We need to get twenty donors to meet our show goal.
If you are short on cash we would still love your help. We need help with answering phones. Come on down to Hart House to the tower at 89.5 Tower Road which is on the south west corner of Harbord and Queen's Park. We need you there from 9:30pm on. For those not afraid to talk on air we need your stories of what Equalizing-X-Distort means to you. For those comfortable with social networking we need your help letting others know that the drive is on and that the show is worth supporting. Tweet, instant message, post notes on message boards. Any help would make a difference and keep independent voices on the FM band.
The ways to give include filling out a pledge form and sending it in. You can download a form at CIUT's website. You can mail a pledge to CIUT at 89.5 Tower Road / 7 Hart House Circle / Toronto, ON / M5S 0A2 / Canada. There is secure on-line spot at www.ciut.fm that you can donate at. Or you can call tonight between 10:00pm and midnight at 416-946-7800 or 1-800-204-8976.
