Tonight on EXD we pay tribute to Dallas Good as a member of Career Suicide. Chris does a feature on Jean Beauvoir (Plasmatics, Ramones) as part of Black History Month celebrations. We start a new feature called Scene Report in which we ask a tastemaker to program some sets that tell stories. We start things off with Freddy Alva of Wardance Records. Freddy takes us to ABC No Rio, Rock Subterraneo (Peru), the oi black book, and some of his favourites from last year. You can download the show here.

Speed Kills - Siege 
This is the next installment of “Speed Kills” a series started by Dave Stevenson on power violence. On Monday February 7th I got a chance to talk with Robert Williams about his band Siege and their influence on this genre. Siege were a second generation Boston hardcore band that improved on the speed of early GANG GREEN and JERRY’s KIDS. And although they released only a cassette and some comp tracks the songs were so good that many bands would make tributes to them and they would become legendary. I started out by showing Robert my copy of the “Drop Dead” ep which Robert was explaining was a bootleg. We pick up with that conversation.

Ska-Punk
