Zine - Confuzed #5

This was the last issue for Confused and it was influenced by the desktop look af zines like Sold Out at the time.

Joel interviews Sick of it All, Epileptic Brain Surgeons, the Wongs, Big Drill Car, and Fidelity Jones.

There is a column on hardline written by Paul Abrash. There is also a review section for the time which includes a review of my band One Blood and our first ep.

Zine - Confuzed 4

I was more involved with the fourth issue of Confuzed. I think I helped with the layout and the photos and some of the writing. But Joel did most of the interviews.

The zine coloumn continues in this issue but has a name which is called "Raggin'". This column mentions Still Thinking, Robzine, dripping Pig Mucous, Something Smells and then some other zines like Subruban Voice and Sold Out.

The music reviews section is called Looney tunes and has lots of live band shots scaterred throughout.

The issue starts out with a piece on Death Angel, Agnostic Front, and Das Damen.

There is an interview with Joey Shithead about the 10th Anniversary for DOA, with All when Dave Smalley sang for them, and More Stupid Initials (M.S.I.), which is much more detailed than anything else I have read on the band.

But the best part of this issue is the back cover which has Jamie Problem in the buck at a show they played with SNFU at Ildiko`s. It is hilarious looking and makes it`s way into the Chris Walter`s book on SNFU.

Zine - Confuzed #2

This is the second issue of Confuzed fanzine. This issue features Brian Baker on the cover, but there is no Dag Nasty interview inside. The cover is on a colour stock which was cool to see.

One of my favourite things about a zine is covering their own local news and Joel did that with his issues. Even today it provides of snapshot of things happening at that time.

Shawn of Pillsbury Hardcore was interviewed at a show they played at Ildiko's in 1987.

Reed and Phil from C.O.C. at their El Mocambo show on August 1st, 1987.

Straight Ahead were interviewed at their show on June 27th, 1987.

Alternative Inuit from Montreal also played the show so their interview is in this issue.
Son of Sam were interviewed at a low attended matinee show in 1987.

There was also an interview conducted with Henry Rollins right when he started up the Rollins group.

Vic and Tim from Concrete Sox were interviewed for Confuzed.

And Steve from Social Suicide is also interviewed after playing a show with the new D.O.G. line up.

There are reviews of records, tapes and fanzines.

Came out around the Fall of 1987.

Zine - Confuzed #1

This is the first issue of Confuzed fanzine, which was a punk fanzine around in the late 80's in Toronto by Joel Robinson. In reading through the interviews I can trace back that this first issue came out after the summer of 1987.

The first interview in the zine was with a straight edge band I met in Kent, Ohio called Youth Inc. They were from Cleveland and so I put on a show with them and the bands from Kent, Ohio called false Hope and Hyper as hell. Joel interviewed Youth Inc., which was a great name for a straight edge band back when they were all using outh in their names. This show took place on May 30th, 1987.

Two seperate interviews with Jamie and Gary of Problem children were put together as one interview.

Joel Interviewed Chi Pig of SNFU at the Latvian House show on December 3rd, 1986. "If You Swear, You'll Catch No Fish" had jus come out so fish make it into the layout.

There was also an interview with Andy Kerr of Nomeansno.

Glenn Slater of MSI did a brief interview as only he can.
