SCREAM - Banging the Drum (Dischord)

That was Keya Chatterjee from the Free DC movement interviewed on Democracy Now this week. As DC has been taken over by the Federal guards, citizens come out at 8:00pm to bang pots and pans. 8:00pm represent the 8 Districts in DC as a show of solidarity against an occupying force. People power can bring down dictators. WWII fascism started out as patriotism in defense of a country and then a slowly narrowing insider group as the manufacturing of domestic enemies became weaponized to crush dissent.

This episode was put together by Andre Zadorozny, Bee Traverse, Christian Overall, Rob Ferraz, and Stephen Perry.

Testimonial from Dave Brown at Sewercide Records - Many, many years ago, I had a small hand in helping out with @equalizingxdistort , a Toronto based punk and hardcore radio show that has been operating weekly from 1998 until present day. A staggering amount of work and dedication has gone into that show for the last 27 years and while many things come and go, the EXD crew continues to show up week after week to play punk tunes over the airwaves. Recently, my former co-host Stephe Perry reached out and invited me back on to the show to discuss all things to do with the label as well as some of my musical projects and all things maritime punk. If you can stomach hearing me spouting off for an hour, you can tune into the show tonight or follow the link on their account to the @equalizingxdistort blog and listen to the show now. Top 10 Canadian releases (Stephen)
Another banner year for Canadian punk. There is some bands that I am bummed about that didn’t make it into my list like Wolfcharge from Windsor and Mutated Void or Suspex from Halifax. Or Chain Block, Street Gloves, and Pust from Montreal. Or Human Target and Nuclear Man from Winnipeg. Or Wasted Age, Speed Humps, and The Slime. Too many good releases this year to keep amazing bands off the list.
