On tonight’s show we have a tribute to the SAINTS. Singer, Chris Bailey, just passed away on April 9th. We have a feature on SST to highlight the release of a new book on the label called - Corporate Rock Sucks: The Rise and Fall of SST Records. We have a feature on Shoulder called “Family Tree” which is about the band and the bands that came out of Shoulder. Given the religious significance of the weekend, we pulled together a set looking at punk songs that critique religion. And the demo feature is a d-beat band from Nova Scotia called Black Dog. This week I heard an interview on CBC’s Q about SST Records. The Interview was with music journalist Jim Ruland who just released a book called “It’s called “Corporate Rock Sucks: The Rise and Fall of SST Records”. The label was built on the backs of BLACK FLAG so like the interview we will start the set off with the first release on the label with Keth Morris on vocals.
