Puzzle fundraiser - Dead Boys
This is an iconic photo that captures the Dead Boys at the Crash 'n Burn. The Dead Boys were one of the most important punk bands to make up the New York scene. Having them in Toronto helped legitimize our scene. We were becoming a place for touring bands to play. And the Crash 'n Burn was the first punk run club even if it wasn't officially a club. And Don Pyle, who was in high school at the time, was using camera equipment from his high school in order to capture these moments. In 2011, Don released a photo book called "Trouble in the Camera Club - A Photographic Narrative of Toronto's Punk History 1976 - 1980" which is when we got to see these photos. It's a fantastic book not just for the photos but also for the stories about the photos. We found another way to pay tribute to Don's artwork and recall some Toronto punk history. Through a puzzle fundraiser. Make punk puzzles at home during the lockdown. Order one at We Piece Together.
