Radio - Sunday, July 19th, 2020

Tonight's show is hosted by Rob and Jose. Rob starts out with some garage and early punk with originals followed by covers. There is also a lot of early New Zealand punk in the opening sets, which includes a post Split Enz band called the Swingers formed out of the Suburban Reptiles. There is a set of Canadian punk followed by a set of punk featuring bands with women and references to some cool DIY comps that inspired the sets. Jose brings some raging punk sung in Spanish. And then another raging set of new hardcore. Download the show here

They have a new album called "Canibal" and we heard the song La Mataron. Bait from Barcelona were next with their song called: No Sense, they released an Ep this month called Another End Of The World Is Possible. Another new band from Peru called Vejamen and a song called Aquel Que Creian Muerto. The set finished with a new band from Mexico City, called Insolencia and a song called Condena Inmunda. Thanks to my friend Ukre from Mexico for sending me this. Subdued started it out with a song called Sanctuary is Nowhere from their debut album "Over The Hills And Far Away". Right after that we heard another bad ass band called The Annihilated with a song called Push Me Around/Abuse Of Power, The Annihilated features Mr Ryan Tong on bass. Ryan is better known for being vocals on my favorite Toronto band S.H.I.T and even though Ryan moved to the UK S.H.I.T is Not Dead Yet, (No Pun Intended). They are still playing and they also just released a sick ass live recording of their pre pandemic performance at IDRIMA a squat in the middle of Athens Greece, and we heard a song of this recording called "Ekfosvismos/Ensomátosi". Right after that we heard a new band from New York called Tower 7 with a song called Zero Zum. They released this tape last May.
The set ended with Tokyo crasher crusties, L.I.F.E. They just released their third album called "Ossification of Coral" and it fucking rips. The name of the song was The End of Mother Nature, and as the title of the record implies, this is also a record to raise awareness of the importance of the ecosystem and the exploitation of coral reefs. We got to see Life at Varning Fest in 2016 lets hope they come back with this release.

THE CAVEMEN - Night After Night (Slovenly)
GREEN/BLUE - Police Street (Slovenly)
GUTTER DEMONS - Gutterkings (Falsetto)
