This is the next installment of “Speed Kills” a series started by Dave Stevenson on power violence.
On Monday February 7th I got a chance to talk with Robert Williams about his band Siege and their influence on this genre.
Siege were a second generation Boston hardcore band that improved on the speed of early GANG GREEN and JERRY’s KIDS.
And although they released only a cassette and some comp tracks the songs were so good that many bands would make tributes to them and they would become legendary.
I started out by showing Robert my copy of the “Drop Dead” ep which Robert was explaining was a bootleg. We pick up with that conversation.
