We aired a live recording and interview with Disdonut, a project band that took the subject of donuts and applied the "Dis" treatment to them. The session was recorded just before Christmas. We also featured a set of music loosely based on France given the shootings that took place in Paris this week. We featured a set of new bands from Spain (Barcelona, Madrid, Mallorca, etc). We featured a set of pop inspired punk that included the new Buzzcocks release. And this much diversity prepared everyone for the demo feature who were Gillooly, who are a new band from Buffalo that embody many different sounds of punk's past. You can download the show here.

We had an unexpected technical problem with the mixer for the Gang Green song which is why we went to a Dead End song unexpectedly. WE have more problems with the mixer later on with D'Arcy's first set but eventually teh bigs get worked out and we played loads of new hardcore and old punk and we featured Crash in our demo feature. The Dry Heaves were from Windsor, a border town to Detroit. Their first show was a Battle of the Bands on Labour Day in 1979. Rave Up Records was able to release material recorded at Salem Studios in 1980-1981. This collection features the "Shoot Yourself" ep plus 9 additional unreleased songs recovered from this Salem Studio session. The songs on here are: 1. Shoot Yourself2. Portable3. I can't Puke4. This was the first volume of what would become a series of comps that would pay tribute to out of press Canadian punk singles. It was a companion piece to the book by the same name and was compiled by Frank Manley and released under the label No Exit Records. Frank was living in Montreal at the time. I know because I distributed these in the city for him. Unlike the Killed by Death series, Frank received permission from the bands to press the eps on this LP format. As a result he was able to include a number art collages related to the band. below are scans of these pages. Click on them to open up larger versions of the pages.
A great little review of this ep exist on Canuckistan Music site. The Dry Heaves were a five pieces started up by some brothers from the Windsor area. They got to play in Detroit and some other cities in the mid-west. "Shoot Yourself" was a newer song at the time and it became the A-side.
