“We Gotta Know” podcast just released an interview with Kim Kinakin who was in many bands and was a show promoter and also did a zine. Kind of a punk rock force of nature in Burnaby / Vancouver. You may know him from some of his bands like SPARKMARKER, STRAIN, SAMSARA SEVIN, SKINJOBS, and SAN ANGELUS. It is a 2 plus hours interview but I was pretty riveted in listening.

World Pride launched in our city earlier this week. Rob found this clip on-line from a legendary show in Hamilton at the Rockpile,. Skinheads tried to shut down the show but the scene banded together to kick them out. This was the tour that "Walk Together, Rock Together" had come out and I seem to remember that Ray Cappo joined in on "Colourblind". The rap part being sung by a New Yorker was special.

This issue came out in April 2003 and features interviews with the awesome No Time Left from Buffalo, which featured the Ellman borthers and Nick Baran of Third Party Records. This also features an interview with the Skinjobs, who are a queer-core band from Vancouver and feature Kim Kinakin formerly of Sparkmarker. And there is an interview with Heather and Derek Emerson on their film "Let Me Be Your Band" which is a documentary about one man bands. There are also reviews and show listings.
