Interview with Brigitta Davidjants (Stephen)
Brigitta is a long time journalist and researcher at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Brigitta's primary focus has been on Estonian pop. Brigitta wrote a book for a Bloomsbury series known as 33-1/3 which are short books about popular music. Brigitta chose to write about J.M.K.E.'s first album Külmale Maale which means “To the Cold Land”. Brigitta explains who J.M.K.E. are and why they are so important. A clue is that they helped kickstart the national awakening movement which lead to a bloodless revolution. Pretty great stuff for a punk band.
Here is a download for the interview with Brigitta

A transcript of this interview has just been published in an English language Estonian newspaper called Eesti Elu. Thanks to Andres Kasekamp and Vincent Teetsov for making this happen.
This band is from Montreal and features members of Beton Arme and Puffer. They take their name from “Le Sleen de Paris” a collection of poetry where Spleen translates to “melancholy”. Appropriate as the band takes influences from the 90s mod revival, like Brian Jonestown Massacre, some Krautrock influence and I hear Revolution Summer DC. This is the bands 2nd demo and it is released on Roachleg.
SPLEEN - Insoutenable (Roachleg)
SPLEEN - Albatros (Roachleg)
SPLEEN - Ombre (Roachleg)
SPLEEN - Rien ne t'empêchera (Roachleg)
SPLEEN - Brisé (Roachleg)
