Tonight was our bi-annual fundraising show where we ask you to donate funds to the radio station to help meet operating costs. So played some punk songs about radio. Toronto is also on the eve of a municipal election so we played some songs about the electoral system. Hallowe'en is also on Friday so we had some songs about Hallowe'en. The band features Corey from Inerds on vocals, Eric from Not Time Left / They Live on guitar, Chelsea from Human Touch / The Mallwalkers on bass, and Steve from Done Deal on drums. This recording was done on October 1st so this might be the first time you are hearing it. Healer will be making this available on a cassette and CD format and Nerve Alter will release a 7" from this material. Healer is also working on new material for a split with Cloud Rat.

Hassler are just back from a European tour and have a new full length that they are celebrating at this show. The LP is called "Fed, Worked, and Watered" and you can hear it on their bandcamp page.

Proxy are an incredible band from Montreal and one of their recent releases "Police Car" was reviewed in MRR not too long ago. I have been listening to them all afternoon and I love how they fused Unruled and Motorhead and Criminal Damage into one great sound.

Toronto's tribute to Sweden in Absolut are also on this line up. They have a new release called "Punk Survival" that you can hear at their bandcamp page.

And the Valley Boys also have a brand new ep out on Ugly Pop called "Drone Attack". Check out their bandcamp page.

The record release really applies for all four bands. An incredible line up. Not to be missed.

A big snowstorm hit Toronto this weekend and after much snow shovelling this NoMeansNo song "'Til I Die" soke to me with the opening lyric "I'm gonna Shovel snow til I die".

We started off the show with a dedication to Greg Dick for the loss of his father, Martin, who passed away last week. He was from Hamilton and "Picture my face" was a song that Martin knew. We had to keep it Hamilton. The rest of the set was by bands from Belfast because Greg let us know about this film on Belfast called "Good Vibrations". This Friday "Good Vibrations" will be showing the film for a week at the TIFF Lightbox. You should try and see it.

After that I played a set based on my top 10 picks for October and a set of runners up.

There was a set of new material mostly of the grind / power violence nature.

Then a set of galloping hardcore inspired by Discharge, Japacore, and kang.

Zine - EXD - Volume 13, Issue 01

The new issue of the zine is out. This issue features D'Arcy's on-air interview with the TV Freaks back a few years. there was some great stuff in their. TV Freaks have just released their second album so the release of this issue is somewhat timely. The Sound of your City drive

Tonight's EXD's portion of CIUT's funding drive. The theme is "The Sound of your City" and so as a way breathing life into the theme tonight's show will feature only Toronto bands. there are so many great bands in the city at the moment and so many from the past. Appreciate the sound of the scene that gets kicked around by the rest of the country. In addition we have a few pledge incentives that can only be gotten by calling in between 10:00pm and midnight on Sunday night. Those gifts include:

- 2 x Last Pogo prize packages (Thanks to Colin Brunton, which includes a DVD of the original film, a t-shirt, and that amazing poster designed by Rick Trembles)
