What's the Poop is a newsletter put together by 63 Monroe. This issue has a recent picture of the band on the cover, a story by Chuck Miller who is a collector, a note about the band being in Killed by Death #10, a show review, and a review of the "Hijack Victim" release.

63 Monroe "Hijack Victim" LP

63 Monroe are an awesome band from London. They originally started out as a band called N.F.G. They had to change the name out of necessity because their gigs were too rowdy and they couldn't get anymore. But NFG recorded some stuff and they released an early 12" with some new 63 Monroe material. "Hijack Victim" collects material from the early NFG material and selected tracks from 63 Monroe recorded between 1980 and 1984. This was released by Rave Up Records out of Italy. Various Artists "Only in Canada, Eh '77-'81, Volume 1" CD

Punk History Canada pulled this compilation together. Unlike the "Smash the State" comps this release just showcased one song. As a result they were able to get loads of bands in on it. And they worked hard at getting regional representation. Unlike the Killed by Death comps, this one focused on Canada. The booklet contains interesting little anecdotes about all the bands found on the comp. The CD contains the follwoing songs:

Black Flag has just broken up and Rollins got the guys from Gone to be his back up band and in the van they went.

This was the first appearance in Toronto of the Henry Rollins group. It was the first year after Black Flag broke up and I remember Jill heath working the door. I didn't have enough money to get in and she let me in anyways. I wasn't sure what to expect and I think "Hot Animal Machine" was about to come out so that was the material performed at the show. I went to the matinee show. Circus Lupus were the band that morphed out of Mike Marley and the Sailors and would become Rocktopus after Jonathon Cummings moved to Montreal to join the Doughboys.
